Reyna
Reyna – The Queen of Frags
Introduction
Reyna, a Duelist from Mexico, is one of the most fearsome 1v1 agents in Valorant. Designed for players who want to dominate the scoreboard, Reyna thrives on kills, gaining power and sustainability the more enemies she eliminates. She’s a true snowball agent — if she starts strong, she becomes almost unstoppable.
Abilities
Reyna’s entire kit is built around fragging (getting kills) and using them to heal, escape, or become invulnerable. Her abilities are only fully usable after securing kills or assists:
-
Leer (C) – Sends out an ethereal eye that nearsights all enemies who look at it. It goes through walls and is great for forcing enemies off angles.
-
Devour (Q) – Consumes a Soul Orb left by a recently killed enemy to rapidly heal Reyna over time. Healing can exceed her max HP (up to 150), but decays over time.
-
Dismiss (E) – Also consumes a Soul Orb, but instead makes Reyna intangible and faster for a few seconds — perfect for escaping, repositioning, or avoiding enemy fire.
-
Empress (X – Ultimate) – Greatly increases fire rate, reload speed, and allows automatic healing on every kill. Also enhances Dismiss, letting her become invisible temporarily.
Reyna is all about momentum — she shines when she gets kills and struggles without them.
Lore and Personality
Reyna’s real name is Zyanya Mondragón, and she comes from Mexico City. After a Radiant-related disaster took her sister’s life, she developed a deep hatred for technology and non-Radiant agents. Her powers are fueled by Soul Orbs she absorbs from enemies, hinting at a vampiric nature.
Her voice lines are intense, often mocking or cold:
-
“They have seen our power.”
-
“They will cower!”
-
“They are nothing.”
-
“Give me your heart.”
Reyna is proud, ruthless, and confident in her dominance. She fights like a predator and rarely shows mercy.
Gameplay Role
Reyna is a solo-carry type Duelist. Unlike agents like Phoenix or Raze who bring team utility, Reyna is selfish — her strengths are purely for her own survival and aggression.
Strengths:
-
Excellent for clutch plays
-
Can sustain in long fights
-
Great for ranked games and frag-heavy players
-
Simple to understand, hard to master
Weaknesses:
-
Heavily reliant on kills — without frags, her abilities are limited
-
Offers minimal utility for the team
-
Can be predictable if over-aggressive
Reyna in Competitive Play
Reyna is more common in ranked matches than in professional play. In solo queue, where coordination is lower, her ability to snowball can dominate. However, in pro play — where utility, coordination, and team synergy matter more — she is less commonly picked.
Still, some high-frag players use Reyna to great effect, especially on maps where quick entry and escape are crucial.
Conclusion
Reyna is the embodiment of raw skill and aggression. She rewards confident, accurate players who aren’t afraid to take duels and push alone. If you want to dominate the scoreboard, pop off in 1v3s, and turn kills into power, Reyna is your champion.
But be warned — only the strong survive with Reyna.
